Social Media is abuzz as news continues to spread of soca star, Machel Montano’s marriage to Renee Butcher in Port-of-Spain, today. The two, in what appeared to be a very simple and quaint ceremony at the Red House, were caught by unofficial paparazzi, happily enjoying the moment. 

Machel is the headline act at tonight’s blockbuster carnival fete- Army Fete, a carnival event that is a major staple annually. Montano is known to deliver a high energy, impactful show and we can only assume that the new groom will be on his best tonight when he hits the stage at Army. 

Today’s ceremony at the Red House saw Machel and Renee flanked by family members inclusive of Montano’s parents, Elizabeth Montano and Winston Montano. Machel’s brother, pilot, Marcus was also among the guests. 

Army Fete takes place at the Queen’s Park Savannah in Port- of- Spain from 9pm. On Monday, Machel’s annual Machel Monday concert event, which has been aptly themed, ‘The Wedding’, takes place at the Hasely Crawford Stadium. Machel has told fans this will be the final instalment of the Machel Monday concept.
